Inanna Rising is proud to post another online training from our Live series now for members listed on our training pages. This one by our very own board member, Regina Wei, MA, LMFT.
People are called to engage in activism in many arenas and for many reasons, but almost by definition activism involves commitment, perseverance, and a deep, sometimes driving, sense of purpose. What differentiates sustainableactivism from other forms of activism? This workshop uses an IFS (Internal Family Systems) framework to name how parts-driven activism can lead to ineffective interventions, unintended consequences, and burnout.
Self-led activism, by contrast, feels very different from parts-driven activism. Self-led activism leads to sustainable results both for ourselves as well as for folx we engage in conversation. Rather than feeling discouraged and depleted, we feel more resourced. Rather than countering with defensiveness or reactivity, folx we approach are more likely to respond openly to suggestions and perspectives, thus making change more likely. When we are Self-led and engage with intention, deep healing is possible for all parties, and oftentimes the result is more connection and community rather than alienation or discord.
The presenter draws from their extensive experiences in activist work—both parts-driven and Self-led—to guide participants in an experiential exploration of their activist parts. By the end of the workshop, following small and large group sharing, participants will feel equipped to identify, partner with, and support their activist parts from Self. Prior experience with IFS is helpful but not necessary for participants to benefit from this workshop.
workshop duration: Approximately 2 hours.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to:
1. Identify which of their parts engage in activism and articulate why parts-driven activism leads to burnout.
2. Identify and address internal and external obstacles that may stymie activism in spite of good intentions.
3. Practice Self-led activism for best outcomes, sustainability, and to prevent burnout.

At Inanna Rising, we uphold a set of core values that define our ethical commitment to healing and transformation. Our community is dedicated to the following principles:
We believe in the power of integrated and collaborative care as the best practice for healing. This approach ensures that individuals seeking healing receive comprehensive and ethical care delivered by a dedicated team.
Continuous growth is essential. Clinicians within our community are committed to ongoing personal healing and professional development to stay at the forefront of field knowledge and treatment advancements.
We are dedicated to making evidenced-based care affordable, accessible, and culturally humble. Our goal is to provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their life circumstances through our patient equity scholarship program.
We acknowledge our responsibility to honor and support indigenous communities who have cared for our land and medicines. We seek to address the immeasurable trauma and loss they have endured. Our member reparations endowment fund will pay out to an Indiginous non-profit each quarter.
We thrive as a community of diverse like-minded individuals with shared values who embrace and celebrate safety, intersectionality, courage, and each other. Together, we grow, learn, and support one another in our collective mission.
Open, honest, respectful, compassionate, non-reactive clear communication is fundamental in our interactions with each other and how we foster safety and loving kindness. We also bring this to those we serve, fostering trust and understanding.
We recognize the importance of honoring the Earth's needs and commit to practices that restore and demonstrate gratitude to our planet. We also acknowledge and support the growing concern and mobilization around climate distress as a critical endeavor for the well-being of our planet and future generations. By advocating for sustainable practices, reducing our carbon footprint, and supporting policies that prioritize environmental conservation and those most affected, we contribute to the global effort to address climate distress and work towards a more resilient and sustainable future for all.
We are committed to advocacy efforts not only in healthcare but also in dismantling oppressive systems and addressing global issues. This includes raising funds for our scholarship and reparation funds.
By fostering an intentional community guided by these values, we aim to manifest the sacred and mysterious within and between us, catalyzing healing that extends beyond our community to support global efforts.
We embrace diversity, welcoming individuals of all genders, races, religions, ages, abilities, and sexual orientations within our community.
We celebrate all traditions and wisdom paths that uplift consciousness, honor love, and cherish mystical states that connect us with the Divine.
At Inanna Rising we believe in creating a therapeutic environment that prioritizes safety, well-being, and informed choices for all participants. Harm reduction is not just a principle; it is a commitment to minimizing potential risks while maximizing the therapeutic benefits of these transformative experiences.

Are you considering joining Inanna Rising's community of dedicated professionals? Here are some frequently asked questions to help you better understand our commitment to ethical healing and support:
If you're a licensed psychotherapist or medical prescriber, you'll need to be enrolled in a PAT (Psychedelic Assisted Therapy) training program or prepared to begin one. Referrals are granted after completing at least a basic training course in the relevant medicines.
Inanna Rising does not provide medical evaluations, preparation, or integration sessions. Our staff supports your clinical work by connecting you with excellent fellow member clinicians, offering continuing education, and providing a supportive community.
As an ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), to be included on our member medical referral list, you must be licensed in a state that grants full practice authority and/or allows you to conduct medical evaluations and follow-ups on all your PAT patients.
At Inanna Rising, our core belief is centered on making healing accessible to every individual in need. To turn this belief into action, we are dedicated to raising funds for patients who may face financial barriers to treatment. Our commitment goes further as we strive to acknowledge and honor the indigenous communities that have safeguarded these healing medicines throughout history.
Indigenous Reparation Fund: Our reparation fund plays a pivotal role in our mission. It donates on a quarterly basis, directing its support towards various indigenous non-profit organizations. This initiative represents our collective effort to give back to the communities that have cared for the land and these sacred medicines, often without acknowledgment or compensation. Net proceeds from our membership fees goes into our Indigenous Reparation Fund.
Community and Board Engagement: Every member of our community, including board members, actively participates in reaching out to potential donors. Through regular contributions, we cultivate and grow these funds. This collective effort ensures that the resources become available to both clients seeking healing and organizations striving to make a positive impact. 100% of our scholarship donations goes to underserved and underrepresented patient care.
By coming together as a community, we aim to bridge gaps in accessibility and foster a spirit of recognition and gratitude. Our mission is to create a more equitable and compassionate world, one healing journey at a time.

Our name draws inspiration from Inanna, the Mesopotamian goddess symbolizing love, fertility, wisdom, and justice. Inanna represents the archetype of the Sacred Feminine, embodying feminine energy and wisdom.
